Luís de Camões Portuguese School Kicks Off the 2025/2026 School Year

The Luís de Camões Portuguese School proudly began the 2025/2026 academic year with tremendous excitement and energy. Both campuses—Newark and Warren—opened their doors at maximum capacity, a clear sign of the growing interest and commitment within our community to preserving and passing on the Portuguese language and culture to future generations.

With 11 dedicated teachers guiding the journey, our school is well-prepared to inspire students of all ages. Each classroom is filled with the enthusiasm of children eager to learn, and the passion of educators who see this work not only as teaching, but as an act of cultural preservation and love for our heritage.

This year’s start is particularly meaningful. Our mission goes beyond the classroom walls—it’s about connecting students to their roots, strengthening their identity, and giving them the tools to carry Portuguese language and traditions proudly into the future.

None of this would be possible without the tireless efforts of our volunteers and parents, whose support makes every achievement a shared victory. From helping with school logistics to ensuring children arrive ready to learn, the dedication of families and volunteers forms the heart of our school community.

As the new year begins, we look forward to the challenges, opportunities, and joyful moments ahead. The Luís de Camões Portuguese School remains committed to excellence, to culture, and—above all—to the success of each student who embarks on this beautiful journey of learning Portuguese.

Here’s to a year of growth, discovery, and pride in our language and culture!
