On Friday, June 14th, the families of the Escola Luís de Camões Portuguese School’s Warren Campus gathered to celebrate the end of the school year with a festive party at the Our Lady of the Mount Church hall. This joyous occasion was a wonderful opportunity for students and their parents to come together and celebrate a remarkable year which marked the reopening of the Sport Club Português school in Warren.
The evening was filled with fun and excitement as the students had the chance to bond with their classmates and enjoy a traditional Portuguese dinner. The atmosphere was lively, with the aromas of delicious Portuguese cuisine filling the air and the sound of laughter and conversation echoing throughout the hall.
After the meal, the real fun began. DJ Bruno Costa kept the energy high, spinning tracks that had everyone on the dance floor. Students and parents alike enjoyed dancing to popular Portuguese hits, and a special moment came when student Alex Neto grabbed the mic to sing a song by the famous band Xutos e Pontapés. The crowd was thrilled, and the always popular “Bate o Pé” had everyone moving and grooving together.
The event was also an opportunity for the school to express its gratitude to the dedicated teachers who worked tirelessly throughout the year. Their hard work and commitment to the students were acknowledged with heartfelt thanks, and their contributions were celebrated by all in attendance. Additionally, the school took this opportunity to recognize the invaluable support of the volunteers who assisted throughout the year. Their dedication and efforts were crucial to the success of the school’s programs and events.
Looking ahead, the next big event on the school’s calendar is the end-of-year picnic, set to take place on June 30th at Cruz Farms. This picnic promises to be another fantastic day of fun, food, and community spirit, and we encourage all families to join us for this special occasion.
